The changes to how instruction is being delivered across the nation are difficult to comprehend. I have been focused on classroom instruction in the traditional sense for decades and it has taken me some time to find how I can contribute to this current reality in K-12 education. Over the past weeks, I have had the opportunity to deeply engage across a wide variety of platforms to learn about how instructional leaders are responding to the Coronavirus pandemic to keep all stakeholders informed in an ever-changing landscape.Â
I feel compelled to share what I have found in hopes that it will provide hope and encouragement about how educators are taking advantage of what is NOW possible. Below are some of the educators that I follow on Twitter (and one on LinkedIn) that consistently post. They each have a nuanced take on what we are experiencing in education at this time. What they have in common is their posts are uplifting and inspiring (who doesn’t need THAT right now?)Â
I have placed them into two categories: 1) instructional leadership geared for site administrators and teachers and 2) school districts near me providing what I consider to be exemplary communication with students, parents, and community members.
I encourage you to check them out and let me know what you think. Also, please let me know who you are following that inspires your leadership at this time.
